Hey guys, Recently I was super fortunate to be invited to the G-Shock Real Toughness contest at Tokyo Dome. This event is organised by BMX legend Hiroshi from 430 and G-Shock. They are doing a lot for the
culture of BMX in Japan! The event was nothing short of amazing! From the best flatlanders, top street riders, skaters and best bboys in the world!! The action that went down was nuts!!
Unfortunately for me, a few too many touches kept me from proceeding in the comp. I was happy with some of the tricks i did, but just couldn’t ride away properly. I was only in Tokyo for a few days but the rest of the time was spent partying with the street and flat riders. Ed Zunda, Lashaan, Fudger, Reed Stark and the other boys love a drink, so it was a fun time….they are cool guys!
Once again…..another Epic Tokyo memory! Huge shout out to Hiroshi uehara / owner of 430.
England has been a battle so far, had a crash first ride that shook me up quite a bit. Then went straight to mongoose jam. During that I have had a gnarly chest cough ( bronchitus ). I’m resting up all week to ride for NASS contest this weekend. Also shooting picutures for a interview for Endless Magazine ( popular UK BMX mag ) while I’m here.
Nass ends the 10th then I fly to USA on the 13th for vans US open invitational bowl comp with 50K purse !! So keen.
You may think Jourdan would be slowing down since he has 2 kids and a wife but you would be wrong. Jourdan makes good use of his time when on the bike as you will see in his new video. No slowing down for JB. Thanks to Chris Bracamonte for putting this piece together. Check out Jourdans signature Menace guard sprocket right here.
As always another month has come and pass, but so much has happened! Cooper was over in the States for a month and we had the chance to do a decent amount of riding and filming. Produced a few different projects that I’m excited to see the final out come of. Was able to ride a few spots in Southern California that I haven’t been to. Always nice to mix it up and get to ride new stuff.
One of the days Victor, Cooper and myself made it out to the Stay Strong compound. I knew that Stephen and the family were getting ready to move soon so I wanted to get out there to see Stephen before he left the States. Was a great day riding and hanging out and Stephen and the boys will be missed very much by all the guys out here in California.
Also been working on a fun Dig project with Chris that should be out in the next month. Always enjoy working with Chris. He makes me laugh most of the time so it makes for fun days out riding and filming. Stay on the look out for this one.
Milosz recently setup a new Monash frame around a bunch of Colony parts. Make sure you follow Milosz on Instagram via @miloszsiajkowski as he is always posting up some great clips.
Sorry it’s been so long since I last checked in. Things have been a bit strange lately.
So as you know I got out of surgery about 2 months ago now. I guess you could say that’s a good thing but it really has been such drama with my knee. I couldn’t have imagined the repercussions of what I thought was such a mediocre injury.
Things are still okay, i just find myself in a huge amount of pain for no reason at times and no doctor can pinpoint the exact reason it’s happening. My knee seems to pop and give way frequently.
That being said I am still working on it daily. Things are looking better slowly. It’s a huge process. I’m looking to be riding again hopefully by October but who knows.
On a lighter not I’m participating in “Dry July” which is a huge thing for me. Alcohol has sort of rules my life for too long now and what better way to better myself than by helping others with cancer in the process. F@#K CANCER. In case anyone feels the need to donate, click here.
Much love to everyone and I hope to be riding with you all again soon! Peace!
This is going to be great! Be sure to check out the Vans DVD that drops next month. All the info you need is here and check the trailer below. Alex should have some great stuff in this as well.
The crew over at Strictly BMX have been busy building a few custom bikes spec’d from some of the pro guys personal set-ups. Here you can see Nathan Sykes replica build which is up for grabs at a great price right here.
We are stoked to announce that Peta Shepherd will be one of the riders you can play in the new release of Pumped BMX 3 Which is dropping in the coming months.
We’ve teamed up with RIDE BMX to giveaway this Firestorm Colony Premise complete bike. Just follow both Colony and Ride on Instagram and you know the rest… Winner announced in a week.
This video has been in the works for a good 18 months now which may sound like a long time in the web video world but Dean had a plan for the clips he wanted to get and some of them weren’t things you wanted to rush into.
Matt Cordova put together this rad video of himself, Nathan Sykes and Kris Fox. All filmed on a super 8 camera, the look that comes from that camera suits these guys riding perfectly.
It’s been a interesting month for me. Anthony, Victor, Chris, Wolf and myself had the best trip back up to Fresno. It was great being able to stay out at the Sanctuary again and spending time out there. Unfortunately I crashed and hit my head pretty good on this trip. Gave myself some pretty good whiplash. Stoked though on how the edit came out and of course being able to spend time with the guys on the road.
My body has been pretty beat up so I have been trying to let some muscles relax and heal up but at the same time I struggle to stay off my bike. I just always love riding so I have a hard time making myself chill so my body can heal up. So I have been paining a bit and doing prints. Always enjoy doing that.
Also my really good friend from Oregon is out for a month. So we have been riding all the local spots and getting some good sessions. Always thankful to have my dude Beev around!
