Alex Hiam update

Alex has been a busy man over in the USA. He just shot through this update…

Hey Guys !!!

Just got back from “Tabes for the Babes” Tour to Tuscon, Arizona With a bunch of rad dudes. We broke down on the first night of the tour because the brakes failed, So we had to stay in a small town can san tee for two nights until the brakes were fixed on the RV… We were super lucky to find a nice enough mechanics to lend us a car for those two days for us to get around town.. After the brakes were fixed we were back on the road and made it safely to Arizona..

It was over 40+ Degree heat in Tucson and we were riding concrete parks all day everyday, It was exsaugthing but so fun.. Ian took us to shoot all his guns one day as-well which was so much fun !!!

The last day I rode Recon Tour At premise park, And ended up Placing 2nd in Open.. The comp was soo crazy there were over 30 riders in Open And everyone was riding so good !!! Finals was getting so intense and every one was throwing down bangers…

I Had the best time ever !!! Massive thanks to Ryan Guettler for taking all of us on this tour and a massive thanks to Premise Park and Ian !!!!

Also I shot a bunch of photos with the photographer from RIDEbmx and he is doing a 8 page story about the trip and the web video will be out soon!! I also just got invited to ride the Vans US open HB invitational comp on the 27th of this month!! Sooo happy and stoked.

Web Video weekend!

As the long weekend kicks in for most of us in Australia, here are a few of my personal favourite web videos that we’ve dropped lately which hopefully helpes you get motivated to go out and ride, enjoy time with friends and maybe film a clip or two…

Almost a year to the day we spent 5 days filming at Woodward West and although I basically didn’t get to ride at all it was a really amazing week filming with the guys on the trip and hanging out with the guys I don’t get to see that often like Ryan, Paddy, Jourdan and Brandon it really added to an already awesome vibe we had going on.

As soon as Jack made the move to ride for Colony we went in on the filming missions travelling to Adelaide twice, all around melbourne and a trip or two to Canberra and 6 months later this came out. The kid crashes more then anyone I know but makes sure he gets it’s done in the end.

Alex Hiam went in hard on this from a few trips to Melbourne along with filming in his home town of Brisbane. The progression throughout the filming process was amazing and I enjoyed every minute of being out filming with Alex

Alex Hiam B-Roll footage

So a couple months ago we dropped the Alex Hiam video which has copped a whopping 129,000 views. As we said back then we spent a lot of time filming for this project partly because of Alex and myself living at opposite ends of the country and also a few injuries thrown in the mix.

As with most web videos that come out there is always some random clips left over, crashes and even a few riding ones so we wanted to put all that together for a little behind the scenes look into the filming of this particular web video. We will be dropping a few of thes ebehind the scenes videos in the coming weeks so I hope you enjoy them.

Advert – Alex Hiam

Alex features in the latest advert we dropped in the new Albion mag showing off all the anodised colours we do. Pick up a copy of The Albion as it’s always a great read.

The past couple months Alex has been on and off the injjured list but as always he is cooking something up. He filmed a bunch of his friends and put together this video, he also has a few clips himself in it.

Perth trip day 2 & 3

We had some heat then some rain over the past 2 days. We hit some good parks then a classic pool that you may recognise from the Colony DVD. A bunch of crew were already there which made for a good time. Unfortunately it looks like Alex has broken his hand from landing a bit wrong on a flair barspin. Yesterday it rained all day which stopped us from rolling but the weather looks good today so bring it on!

Perth trip day 1

Myself, Clint, Alex, Tom and Dean are over in Perth for the week filming and heading to the Mandurah comp on the weekend. Alex Hiam back on the bike…

Alex Hiam had a couple weeks over the holiday period to rest up on a recent hand injury. But he got straight back into it today blasting on his bike like there was no tomorrow. He also had the chance to test out his new signature seat/post combo too. All good so far.
