From OKC to NYC…

We spent the day in OKC yesterday & the guys at Sidewall Distribution looked after us really well, thanks guys. I checked out Sidewall HQ & after that we had some lunch & went for a quick site seeing tour around the city. One thing Mark Owen showed me was the famous rail Mat Hoffman did back in the day. We then headed to the airport to catch our next plane.

We arrived in NYC late last night. As we flew in we had a great over view of the entire city. I have never seen a city like this before. So crazy big. We headed straight for our hotel & walked around a little & it’s pretty surreal to be here. Today we will be going exploring… should be great.

In OKC… finally

Travelling can really suck sometimes. After Vegas we planned to go to Oklahoma City to visit the guys at Sidewall Distribution & have a nice relaxing Sunday there.

Well those plans got thrown out the window when our flight was delayed by 6 hours out of Vegas. It also didn’t help that we arrived 4 hours earlier for our flight. So after 10 hours sitting in the Vegas airport, we finally got on our way but then missed our connecting flight in Dallas. We were given a hotel room but only had 3 hours to try to get some sleep before we had to make the connecting flight. Finally after 24 hours of travelling, we arrived at our hotel in OKC, very much ready for some sleep. Our plans for Sunday blown out but least we finally arrived.

We will go visit Sidewall tomorrow & see where all the magic happens.

The view over Vegas at 11pm.

VW Day Out…

This has pretty much nothing to do with BMX but thought it may be of interest of some out there. For those that know me, know that I am a VW fan. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday here, so I went down to a VW Show N Shine in my beloved ’62 Type 3 Squareback. It was a perfect day to chill out & go for a cruise. I captured a few images from the day & here they are below.

From the vault.

I randomly thought about this photo today that I shot of Ryan a couple of years back now at a roadtrip we were on where we stopped in at Cam Whites jumps.

Ryan went to France

Ryan Guettler recently went to France for a dirt comp & he is there for a couple more weeks yet. Here is what he had so say…

Jet lagg could be one of the worst things to go through!! When every one is sleeping your wide awake looking at the clock watching the mins tick by and when every one is fresh and ready to ride your trying to hold your eyes open sucks so bad!!

Me and Jaie Toohey have been in south of france for 5 days now on our 2.5 week trip. Its been fun and we have meet up with alot of other riders, we are sharing a house with Cam white, Josh stead and Danny Jose (Hungry Monster rider) Staying in the house feels like when I had to stay at my grand mothers place no TV, no internet but we play lots of ping pong out side every night. Me and Jaie go to Mcdonalds for the wifi which is so slow, its been 30 mins so far on uploading theses pics and it may not happen i hope you guys get them.

I bought my video camera and have been filming every thing we get up to so look out for a video when i get home.

Yesterday was the Lords of Dirt comp. Very BIG jumps and huge roll in the pics do not show how big theses thing are. 9 foot lips and 15 foot landings. I came from dew tour very sore and a bad knee which needs rest but competed and just missed the finals, I had a rough time pumping the sets with a bad knee so gaining speed was so hard.

Josh stead rode well and did the run of the day ending with a double flip but it was 2 runs count so he ended up in 6th
Cam White rode solid and even flip superman seat grabbed the 2nd jump over 30 ft long and ended with 2nd place
Jaie Toohey killed the event every run was a winning run. He rode faster and higher then the rest and won the comp and placed 2nd in the best trick with a 360 triple whip!! Jaie looked at home on theses massive jumps the nitro circus really paid off.

This week we are doing Monster demos in the down town area then on the weekend is The VANS kill the line. Which is a comp in the woods with big jumps again I am really looking forward to this comp.

Jibs interivew.

One of the main newspapers here in Melbourne The Age, hit us up with a bit of an interview about King of the Jibs. This was published in the Sunday paper and I think they did alright with it, usually articles written by people who have no idea what BMX is about end up all tacky but this seems alright. Have a read and see you on Saturday…

Belco…

On my way down to Melbourne for this weekends Ausbike trade show & the King of the Jibs 2 & dropped into Canberra yesterday to check out the new park at Belconnen. Met up with Zac & Tom with the Afray guys. Wow, so much stuff there in one park. Worth the drive down for sure. The Canberra locals are lucky to have such a different park to ride.

Marnold

I am back in Melbourne at the moment and this weekend I hooked up with Marnold and CO, it was possibly the most productive weekend riding we have ever had here. Marnold killed everything we rode.

Thanks to DJ for the photos.

The Ausbike trade show is this weekend & we will have a stand there with all our 2012 products on display. Don’t forget the King of the Jibs comp is on Saturday the 20th August as well. See you there.

Guettler in the finals

Guettler scored himself a spot in the finals at the Dew Tour in Portland with a 7th place finish in the park semis. It’s good to see Ryan back on his game after being out so long due to injuries. Good luck in the finals mate.

Greenville premiere report…

A very hung over Ryan Guettler sent in a quick report on the premiere night in Greenville last night & his thoughts on the DVD. Read on below…

Last night was epic !! Sorry this is going to be short but I’m so sick from all the alcohol and monster.

The DVD was so sick, Stewart Munro did such a good job editing it.

Last night was crazy every one had a good time the bar even let me bring in the boxing gloves and things got out of control. They let us play BMX DVD’s all night and the drinks didn’t stop. We even got a live band for a bit.

No one is riding today because were all hung over but it was a fun time. Today I’m just chilling but but I’ve re-watched the DVD 8 times already, I love Tom’s section, he is crazy.

Thank you so much for the DVD and letting me be apart of every thing Colony is doing. You rule Clint !! – Ryan.

Greenville premiere today…

If you’re in the Greenville area in NC, then make sure you get yourself over for the party that Ryan has organised to celebrate our DVD launch. Should be a great time for all with an open bar as well courtesy of Monster Energy & Ryan himself.

Impromptu world premiere…

Tonight we had an impromptu world premiere for our DVD. We went to a random Taiwanese restaurant tonight & my agent noticed a DVD projector screen & took it upon himself to have our new DVD show on it. So random but also pretty damn cool at the same time.

DVD premiere in Greenville

Ryan Guettler took it upon himself to organise a massive premiere event in Greenville which I am so thankful for. Check the flyer details below & take note of the open bar thanks to Monster Energy & some of Ryan’s other sponnos. Wish I could make it this one as well but for those that are closer, make sure you do. It’s on this Sunday, so actually technically is the world premiere as well. Should be a great night.
