About 2 years ago (I think), I noticed a young rider at Woodridge skatepark here in Brisbane. He was riding an 18″ bike that was clearly too small for him. I always said he should get a 20″ bike, sooner rather than later. I hadn’t seen him in ages but saw him recently at Woodridge ripping on a 20″ bike. It was good to see but it turned out it was his friends bike & his was broken beyond repair & it was still the old 18″ bike.
I figured I could do something about his bike less situation & got a bunch of old parts together. Ended up building him up an old Sweet Tooth of Alex’s with a bunch of parts we had around. Much better suited for him & he has already learnt a few new tricks, even in the rain.
Now before we get hundreds of emails asking for a free bike, please don’t do so. This was a special occasion & one that can’t happen all that often.

I am back in Taiwan once again for the annual trade show here. I always enjoy coming here, it’s great to get business done & always a fun time for sure. I am here to put the final touches on our 2011 ranges & will post a few sneak previews on these when ready later in the week.

The new & quite possibly the greatest issue of 2020 will soon be available… look out for this cover in newsagents & BMX shops soon. We have a strong presence in this new issue, with a feature story on our independence as a brand, an interview with Simon O’Brien & his new DVD due soon as well as featured products & our new double page advert format featuring none other than Mick Bayzand.

The winner for our light hearted fun online comp on my 3 other most favourite things besides my VW Type 3 & my wife, was Mick Cvetkovic from Victoria. He will soon receive in the mail 5 x pairs of LFH grips for his efforts. There really was no correct answer but he guessed pretty good. 1. Bundy. 2. BMX. 3. Colony BMX. Thanks to everyone that entered.

Mick will soon be doing smith’s like this holding onto LFH grips.

Here is some almost ancient Pete Radivo footage from around 9 years ago. Edited by his brother Dao Radivo back in the day & now released for all to see. Some really good stuff in there for sure. Can’t wait till Pete gets back on the bike after his recent knee surgery… won’t be long now.

Spotted this over on the Ride BMX site & thought it was pretty cool. There is also an interview with the artist from Mexico, Javier Nicolas Del Real Navarro, on their site & you can check it out along with other drawings by clicking here now.

That would defInately have to be the colony road trip to Melbourne from Brisbane! So fun!
You are addicted to eating lollies, what is your favourite type?

Flemington banks when it’s street and Kuraby and Beenleigh with skatepark!
At the Nerang Skatepark there is a workshop and jam with Tim Wood tomorrow, Saturday the 13th of March 10-11.30am for the workshop and 11.30-1.00pm for the open jam session.

We are pretty stoked on how these came out. These will be shipping to Australian stores next week. Check with your favourite BMX store for them then.

Henrique Castro sent us over this edit from his local park, it is well filmed and edited. I wish we had an undercover park like that down here in Melbourne right now. You can also check out a nice bike check of his new Colony setup here.
Got a quick update from Guettler…
I just got back from Australia. Had such a cool time while I was home spent a lot of time with the family. I’m in Phoenix right now doing a Vans road trip to get photos and video but we started the trip at a BMX race. I ended up getting 3rd in the Vans team race and Nasty won, it was such a cool time. I’ll keep you updated on how this trip goes… Ryan.

Chris Courtenay !! I have been watching his riding progress the past 18 months or so & always wanted to offer him a spot on the team. Well that time has finally come & Chris will now join the flow team for starters & I am sure it won’t be long before Chris is rewarded for his efforts. Welcome aboard mate & I look forward to the years ahead.
Chris is shown below picking up his new ride… Teddy frame packed full of our 2010 parts ranges. Can’t wait to see him skying aboard a Colony.

Shintaro Misawa won the Flatland Unlimited 6 comp in Toronto on the weekend, so stoked to hear that news. He really has been doing so well on the flatland circuit of late & I am sure the successes will keep coming. Congrats once again mate, you rule !! Thanks to Newcircle for the heads up.

Alex Hiam dropped by the office the other day & looked right at home in the bosses chair. Who know’s one day hey?

Cooper Brownlee is one of the most busiest men in BMX in this country. Between his team managerial, art director & photographic duties with Colony & running Focalpoint magazine/website how does he find time to ride still? Somehow he does & here is some proof if you needed more. Thanks to James Patterson for the photo.

As the post below states, some of the team is in Melbourne this weekend. We had a fun ride yesterday and while we were at it we shot this sequence of Zac, he went to over ice back down the rail after it aswell. Goodtimes!

Riders from Colony are confirmed as Alex Hiam, Zac Miner, Mick Bayzand & myself. See you there !!

We now offer our Clone Cassette hubs in a female bolt style version. Our design is a little different than some others out there. They feature a 3mm section of the 14mm axle that protrudes into the drop outs. This creates a much cleaner & stronger design we feel. If you run pegs you just use 10mm versions on the rear to suit the 10mm hardened CrMo bolts supplied.
You can also get these female hubs laced up in our complete Clone wheels sets as well. These are available in Australia now & worldwide very soon.

Come one, come all to this 100% charity event to support Dave & his numerous life saving operations he needs. Check our site for some really special ways to support Dave, more on those soon.

Our Japanese flatland guru, Shintaro Misawa is off to Canada tomorrow for a flatland comp there on the weekend. Click here now for full info on the event. Shintaro is one of the most well travelled guys on the team & is constantly jet setting around. Good luck over there mate !!
