One year anniversary edit…

Late last month we had the entire Australian team in Brisbane to celebrate our one year anniversary of the brands independence. This chilled edit is from the little get together we had. It was a very fun, super chilled day & one that I had been looking forward to for a long time. Filmed & edited by Stewart Munro, enjoy !!

Vintage Zac Miner.

Zac Miner sent me over this classic photo of him from around five years ago. The park he is riding is super fun, it’s in Shepparton, Victoria. I think Zac should bring back the superman one handers!

Independence day…

Recently we had the entire Australian team in Brisbane for some celebrations of the fact Colony became independent one year ago. We had a chilled jam at a street location with a bunch of pizzas & more than enough drinks for everyone, good times for sure. Here are a few pics from the day & DIG magazine did this interview up with myself on what has been happening the last 12 months & what lays ahead. Featured over on the DIG site now.

Clint, you must be stoked to have 100% control of Colony now?
Yeah it’s been a huge undertaking but something that needed to be done. I feel the brand is in a much better place now than just over 12 months ago. I now have total control with the direction of the company in all aspects. I could not be happier on where were headed.

Most satisfying accomplishment since the change?
Just knowing that the growth we have experienced has been because of the hard work I have put in along with the team & my staff members. Thanks guys!

What else are you looking forward to for the year to come?
I am really looking forward to sending the team around the world to ride. I will also get out there on the bike myself again which is something I have missed the last few years.

What else has changed with the brand since you took 100% control?
We have had a total brand re-launch with a new logo & look. Cooper Brownlee has done an amazing job with this & I feel it really looks so much better than before. Our product range has also grown & we have plenty in the works for 2010 & beyond. Another big change has also been that Colony now has two full time employees beside myself. It is so good to be able to share the work load now. Maybe I will even have a life a again outside of working on Colony?

Since the change, what has been the response with shops?
Our dealers across the world & especially here in Australia, have been very favourable with their comments & feedback. Colony is now the strongest BMX brand sold here in Australia which is amazing to know, in a saturated sea of international brands.

Until recently you were doing all the warehouse work yourself, it must be a good feeling packing orders for stores and seeing your products being sent out all over the country and world?
Yeah that was one of the most amazing things to be honest, I really enjoyed it. Just seeing the products I designed being sent out everywhere & in such demand is really satisfying.

Cooper & Mick update…

Cooper Brownlee & the entire Australian team were up in Brisbane recently for various celebrations & just to kick it for a while. We did a little day trip up to Gympie last weekend while dodging the rain. It was a good day full of fun times, BMX how it’s meant to be. Mick Bayzand took this photo of Cooper doing his thing. Both Mick & Cooper are on their way back to Melbourne via Sydney & Canberra right now. Keep an eye out for them at a town near you. Word is that Mick already slid a rail in Port Macquarie that eluded me a few years back.

Click here for some pics of Mick over on the Focalpoint site.

Radivo under the knife again!

Pete Radivo was up here in Brisbane recently to hang out with the entire team. While riding here he had an innocent looking crash & once again found out he has to go in for surgery on his knee. This makes it the 5th knee surgery he has had but there is some goods news at least. He will be getting a new synthetic ACL replacement & should be back on the bike in as little as 2 months. Pete’s surgery is scheduled for February 10th. Good luck mate.

Jonny Devine update…

Jonny sent over some photos from a session he had over at his grandad’s barn where they have a few ramps set up, no doubt it’s crazy cold over there at the moment so riding inside must help keep the guys sane over there in England.

One year to the day…

Today is exactly one year to the day, that I made it official & Colony became an independent company. It has been an amazing past year & we have come a long way. All this could not have been made possible without everyone’s support out there.

So, I would like to thank all our team riders, our employees, our distributors, our loyal shops all over the planet, our agent & suppliers in Taiwan, the websites & magazines that gave us coverage & last but not least, every single rider out there that has supported Colony in some way. Thanks to anyone that has ever bought one of our products, come riding with us or was just down with what were about. Thank you.

2010 is gonna be a banger of a year for us & I can’t wait to show the world what Colony is capable of. Word.

Jamssss.

It just happened to work out that I was going through the small town of Kempsey (NSW) when their jam was on yesterday so I stopped in for a bit and had a roll and watched everyone shred. It was good to see a small town putting on a cool day with a bunch of riders making a fair trip out to be there. Thanks to Brodie for the photos.

Glennie…

Long time friend & all round nice guy Glennie, started work last Monday as our warehouse manager & is fitting in rather well. He also put together a fresh new Gnarkill frame & will be shredding after work most days. Glen also joined the home owners club this week. Stoked.

Guettler checks in…

Guettler is back in Brisbane now & wrote this little update on what he has been up to of late…

So after Xmas and new years, Vans invite me to there zoomys 100k, which is a huge awards party up in the SNOW, (This is my 2nd time ever seeing snow by the way) I go up there with Jerry badders, Nasty and Steve Van Doren. We play in the snow Nasty & I tried to snowboard for a while which was so funny. Then the night of the big party was amazing, we got to hang out with Snoop Dogg and PJ Penn and Dustin Dollin (everyone was there ) it was a very fun night.

Then the next day I flew home to Australia and meet up with the Colony crew and Richo takes me straight to the trails, we have been filming a lot so wait for an edit to come soon. But now I’m home and having a blast. It was crazy going from snowboarding with Nasty one day to riding trails, getting sun burnt with Richo the next hahahaha such a great time…
