Alex Hiam One Clip…
Alex scored a recent Oneclip over on Focalpoint, this was shot at Fairfield park in Brisbane.
It was a good day…
Yesterday we had a great day riding at 4 different parks here in Brisbane. Pete Radivo is in town & we hit up Crestmead, Browns Plains, Woodridge & finally Kuraby. Getting clips at each spot as we went, good times for sure. From left to right is Glennie, myself, Pete, Alex & Peta.

Alex back on it.
After some ankle injuries kept him out for the past six months or so, Alex has been getting back into riding 100% the past few weeks, Yesterday we hit up Fairfield park in Brisbane, Alex seemed right at home on is bike.
Alex back on his bike…
Alex Hiam is finally back on his bike after a long 6 months off due to injury. Saw him ride today & it looked like he maybe stopped riding for no more than 6 minutes more like it. Still got all his tech stuff which was so good to see.
He also is riding his new bike set up which of course is always based around his signature frame, the Sweet Tooth. It is the only frame engineered exclusively for smaller riders like Alex out there. Check it out at a Colony dealer near you now.

In other Alex news, he is still off the bike from his broken leg 3 months ago & has been told by the doctor he will have to wait another 3 months till he can ride again. Needless to say the little fella is going crazy with so much time off the bike. Rest assured though he will be back on the bike & shredding once again.

Just for fun…
While Alex & I were staying at Ryan’s house a couple weeks back we put together this fun little edit riding Ryan’s new backyard mini ramp. It was crazy hot this day & so humid but was great fun doing it. I haven’t sweated that much in ages !! We even did a bunch of synchro stuff just for fun. Enjoy.

Core Series final…
The Core SeriesĀ final was on Sunday & was a good day for sure. A good turn out & the riding level was really high with a few first’s done at the park. Decade airs, flip whips, front flips, smith to whips were a few stand outs from the day. So good to watch. Our own Peta Shepherd did well enough to get 7th on the day & 5th overall for the year in expert. Well done Peta !! Alex Hiam also rode well yesterday & took out 3rd place in the pro class. Thanks to Ange for the pics.

Vans HQ visit…
Yesterday we visited the Vans headquarters here in California & met up with none other than the Vans TM, Jerry Badders. He gave us the grand tour of the offices there & Alex was blown away by the sheer size of the place. So much cool stuff to see too. Jerry was also nice enough to take us shopping at a nearby Vans store. He hooked us up big time & you can expect to see Alex decked out in some fine Vans kicks & fresh new clothes.
A huge thanks must go out to Jerry & Vans, thanks heaps mate, it is appreciated.

Leaving Woodward now…
It’s been an amazing few days here & we are all pretty much ridden out now. I haven’t felt this sore from riding in a while… all good though for sure. Today we are leaving Woodward to go back to Ryan’s place in Greenville for a few days before returning home. I would like to once again thank everyone at Woodward for letting us stay & ride, it’s been an amazing time. Here are a few random photos from the last few days – Alex on the go-karts, Ryan & Broc on the new dirt jumps.

At Woodward now…
Alex, Ryan & myself arrived at Woodward yesterday. We meet up with Broc Raiford here as well & rode all day. It was amazing. I haven’t been here since 1998 & the place has changed so much since then. So much stuff to ride that I don’t think we will even get to ride it all during our 4 day stay. Thanks to the friendly staff at Woodward for hooking us up, appreciated.

Below are some photos taken by Colin Mackay – one during the drive home today & the other while chilling at Ryan’s place yesterday.

New team pages…
Everyone worked hard to get some new photos for their team pages along with new Q&A’s. I am stoked on how they came up! Check them here, have a read to learn a bit more about the team. Extra thanks go out to the photographers from around the world that helped out with team riders photos. The photo below is of Liam Fahy-Hampton from a fairly recent trip from Brisbane down to Melbourne, it’s amazing what you will find in small towns.
Strictly BMX holiday video…
Ools from Strictly BMX did up a little iPhone holiday edit from a trip up to the Gold Coast earlier this year. Not the best quality but worth checking out. Look out for clips of Strictly team rider, Mick Bayzand & a little of Alex in the mix.

Alex Hiam Interview…
Over on Diversity Bmx, Alex Hiam has a cool little interview where he talks about his signature frame, traveling and all sorts of other good stuff. You can check it out here.
Product highlight – Sweet Tooth frame
Alex Hiam is a little ripper & it made perfect sense for us to give him his own signature frame that was suited to someone smaller like himself. The Sweet Tooth is a scaled down kids sized frame that is perfect for the younger riders out there, it seems to work for Alex rather well.
