Peta Shepherd continues her USA trip & reports in…read on.
I can’t remember what the last thing I sent in was, but I can tell you I’ve been having a ball since then! We’ve been on the road now for about 3 weeks and it’s all been a rad and crazy experience. I got to hit up Vegas while the Dew tour was on. Which was awesome, it would be the biggest BMX contest I’ve been to and the vibe was cool. After that we drove over in to Cali. The rain caught us which was a bummer, we got the chance to ride a few sweet indoor parks. I even got the chance to shoot with Fat Tony from RideBMX.
We headed up highway one after our few days in Cali to hit up Portland. The drive was long though beautiful along the coast and into the Redwood national forest. We even tried driving the van through a tree but it was just a bit to big. When we got to Portland it was cold and rainy and we had no where to stay, so we drove on to Seattle because we knew another girl rider Sam Lyons who kindly oftered us a bed at her house. Seattle had been raining a bit too, however Sam was able to get us into a cool little private barn ramp setup, which was weird to ride though very fun. The photo is from the little session we had there.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from or had much on here about Toby Mathews but the guys at GC Compound sent through a couple pics of him shredding the park down there. Looks like he is still killing it like only he can.

Down here in Melbourne we have been fortunate enough to score some really nice weather the last few days. This photo is of Marnold enjoying an evening school mission that we did during the week.
There is a review somewhat of our Agenda 1.9 tyres over on the Ride On BMX site. These tyres which will be available pre Xmas in most countries, are being ridden by Tom Stretton a few other guys on the team right now. Feedback so far has been very favourable. Click here to also see a bike check & some riding shots of Tom over on the Ride On site now. I don’t know how you do those hang 5 stalls Tom, you freak. So good !!

Tom Stretton is the king in my mind when it comes to front wheel brakeless trickery. Here he shows you how to do a whiplash (or tailwhip nosepick). Now get out there kids & learn that sucker! Thanks to Ryan for the photography & layout.

Peta Shepherd sent in another update on her trip throughout the states… read on below.
Two days ago I left Salt Lake for Las Vegas with some mates. We had the best times along the way, we camped the first night in the hills of Utah, it was freezing! On the second day we drove to Snow Canyon and did some hiking and exploring, which was really awesome in the Lava flows. Then later that afternoon, while looking for a place to camp and rallying down some dirt roads, we got the van bogged for 4 hours which was very interesting…. It’s been the best fun so far and hope it keeps coming.

Paddy Gross, our main man in Germany, sent in some words & pics from his travel the last few months. Paddy is also making plans to come out here to Australia next year to ride & hang out.
“I am always stoked where this little bike is taking me and in August I´ve been to Romania for the first time for a contest. Very impressive country and lots of cool spots to ride. The contest was held in huge city park and the concrete skatepark didn’t look bad at all, a little slippery though. Romania hasn’t a big BMX scene and there’s probably just one bmx shop in town.
All the kid’s knowledge is from the internet and when I was there I was asked a million questions about my bike and Colony. The kids were like, “You’re that Colony rider, I know you because I always check their website, such awesome stuff, can I buy your bike?”
Lot’s of riders from other countries around Romania came up for the contest. It’s been a great time riding with all those dudes and I ended up taking second place which made me more than happy.
Between going to contests I am riding demos a lot or I go to work, luckily my boss from work is big fan of what I am doing. So getting time off work to ride my bike isn’t a big deal. In September I went to Portugal for the Vans “Let it Ride” tour and the rebeljam. The tour went crazy good and had a complete new format. The whole thing was bro cam style and so we had to film ourselves all the time. So I can´t wait to see the final edit.
After the tour, we went for the rebeljam and it´s been a crazy amount of riders from everywhere in the world, even Australia were present. I’ve had the chance to meet some of the coolest guys on that weekend like Dwayne or Todd Meyn, which was my favorite rider also on that weekend. Lot’s of insane riding went down and I for myself, was chilling out a little at my contest run because my body was just tired from the tour and didn’t wanted to hurt myself.
Well that was it for now and I still have a couple contests and demos coming up for this year but all my earnings are going to the “Australia” account. I will be hopefully heading over there pretty soon.
Thanks to everyone who’s reading this and thanks to Colony for the good times I have with ya !!”
Cheers – Paddy!

My holiday has been unreal so far… I’ve been having the best time riding my bike, rock climbing and hiking in Sundance. Everyone I’ve meet so far have been so cool to hang with. I’m going canoeing for a few days next week, which I can’t wait for because I’ve never been. Then I start my road trip to Vegas to watch the Dew Tour.
