France Updates.

After a bit of a mission to get here we are now in France, we took two trains, a bus and then a two hour drive, all up it was about 11 hours to get to where we are now but it was worth it, we put together a bike for myself and had a fun day out riding with the locals at a cool street plaza park and then we had a roll around at some spots, thanks to Unleaded and the locals for their hospitality.

Barcelona coming to an end.

As the Barcelona leg of this trip comes to an end I thought I would post up a few random shots. Have a look at the photo of Zac Miner jumping the gap, this clip got missed as a car was coming to where Zac was going to land hence why you can see Clint waving but Zac was to focused and got it done.

One Less Bike.

So it seems Barcelona cops have decided it’s time to take action on bmxers and skaters that are riding spots here. Yesterday I had my bike confiscated by them for no real reason at all, all I was doing was riding a bank, no grinding no damaging property but with this language barrier all I know is that I just lost my bike! Whilst we were at the police station there was a booklet about how skating in the streets was an offence, I’m not sure if this is a new thing but either way anyone who heads over here be careful.

As much fun has it has been here I am really looking forward to going to France on Monday and hanging out with the Unleaded guys. The photo below is of Marnold shredding one of my favourite spots that I got to ride.

Barcelona Day Four.

Today started off good, we hit a bunch of spots which was fun however things turned from good to bad over the course of the day, we got kicked out of a couple of spots then ventured out of town a bit of more and rode a real fun spot for a fair while, then we were just eating some food around the corner from the last spot when four police officers pulled up, pointed at me and proceeded to speak in Spanish which all we got out of it was that they were giving me a fine for grinding on the rail (which I actually didn’t) they then asked me which bike was mine, I tried to keep it all nice so I showed them and the dude literally took my bike and put it in the cop car, because of the language barrier we have no idea what the story is. Basically all we know is that in two days we have to go to the police station and deal with it then.

The photo below is of happier times from yesterday after riding amazing spots all day and meeting new people.

TwentyTwenty.

The new issue of 2020 is out very soon, it has some coverage of a trip some of the team took from Brisbane to Canberra along with a trip that Richo and Guettler took to Sydney. It also features a Chris Courtenay interview which should be interesting.

Zac’s Birthday.

Ramp Attack Video.

Chris Courtenay has a bunch of good clips in this edit from DiversityBmx. Chris is out for a little while with a knee reco but I can’t wait to see him doing stuff like this in again.

Know the team – Peta Shepherd.

In the grand scheme of things there really aren’t that many girls who ride bmx but Peta does and does it quite well. Continue below to learn a bit more about her…

What are you up to today?

I just finished work… Chilling out for a bit and then going for a ride somewhere.

Tell us something about yourself people probably don’t know…

I have a twin brother. He doesn’t ride and we don’t look a thing alike. haha

Any plans to travel any time soon?

Hopefully yes. I wanna hit up the states in September/Octoberish.

If someone asked you why they should come visit Brisbane, what would you say?

Non rider: Beaches and theme parks. Rider: All the cool people to ride with and the good parks, plus the weather.

How many other girl riders are there in Australia do you think?

Umm.. not to sure in Australia, though I know there is a hand full in Brisbane and more keep popping up. Which is awesome to see.

Out of the hundreds of parks there are in Queensland what is your favorite to ride and why?

I love some many. But I think Kuraby, it just has fun quarters and banks, and even some little ledges

New team pages…

Everyone worked hard to get some new photos for their team pages along with new Q&A’s. I am stoked on how they came up! Check them here, have a read to learn a bit more about the team. Extra thanks go out to the photographers from around the world that helped out with team riders photos. The photo below is of Liam Fahy-Hampton from a fairly recent trip from Brisbane down to Melbourne, it’s amazing what you will find in small towns.

Nathan Charles Jam.

17 months ago we lost a good friend in the Victorian bushfires, Nathan Charles.  Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to this years jam but Colony hooked up the guys with some product to give out on the day and going off this video there was a good turn out which is awesome. Pete Radivo took it pretty hard near the end of the edit, I have no idea what Pete was trying. Rest in Peace Charlzy.

Bruno Faucon Edit… & a France trip?

Bruno sent us over this edit which he features in, that park at the start looks super fun. Look out for a quick clip of Libellule as well. See you both next month !!

By the way, we will be in the south of France mid June touring around with a bunch of the team from Australia as well as our French connection. Check with Unleaded for more info & dates. We will also release full details here in the next few days.

Zac Miner in Dig.

Zac Miner has a Low Profile in the latest issue of DIG BMX magazine. DIG is definitely my favourite BMX mag and this issue is no let down.

Shintaro…

The ATX Flatland crew made an edit to welcome Shintaro Misawa who is heading over to Texas in a couple of weeks for the MC Duff jam on the 29th of May. This edit has a bunch of local crew riding in it then into some Shintaro comp footage…

Attila Godi Edit…

Our flow rider from Hungary Attila Godi sent over this recent edit. The park it is filmed at looks pretty interesting it’s almost like it’s someones backyard, random tent midway through the section in the background aswell, either way some cool stuff in this.

Welcome Jens Kahlström.

We have a new flow rider by the name of Jens kahlström who is from Stockholm, Sweden. It’s always rad seeing riders from other sides of the world, even better to be able to help them out with some parts aswell. click here to check out an edit that Jens features in (black bike) which has some rad moves in it.

More Jonny!

Jonny Devine sent over a photo of his Gnarkill frame all set up, he took to it with some paint stripper and gave it a unique look…

Jonny Devine update…

Jonny Devine hit me up to let us know he has been riding a bunch of trails lately, which is rad! Check out the ChapelWoods site while you are at it. Jonny also went on the Ride to Glory trip recently which he said was a blast. Below is a couple photos of Jonny at the trails…

Dirtpipe…

I just got back from the Redbull Dirtpipe Comp that happened on the weekend. Definately an eye opener! Chris and Zac both rode in the comp and Chris made it to the finals but unfortunately had a crash which he injured his knee pretty bad and had to be taken to the hospital. Chris is going to see a knee specialist today, fingers crossed everything is ok.

On the road…

Myself, Chris Courtenay and Zac Miner were floating about in Canberra yesterday before we headed down to the Redbull Dirt Pipe comp, the weather was rad so we got a solid ride in. below is Chris at a pretty familiar spot.

Classic Bayzand.

I spotted this on Facebook, it’s a healthy reminder of how rad Mick Bayzand is, most of this footage is a good five years old. It’s a section from an old video magazine called Rollcall which isn’t around anymore but was cool while it lasted.

Product update – Top Load Official stem

Broc Raiford – Lights out edit.

Thanks to Andrew Sanford for filming and editing this cool edit of Broc at their local indoor park. The guys lit up certain areas with flood lights and seemed to have fun doing it. Feeble to 270 footjam was rad.

Tom Stretton’s new setup.

Tom set up a new bike recently so we snapped a photo of it, looks pretty rad if you asked me! If you never saw it or what another look at it check Tom’s Colony edit from a couple months ago here, edited by John Young.

Know the team – Paddy Gross.

Paddy rides for Colony over in Germany, if you would like to learn a little bit more about the man, check out the quick Q&A below…

Paddy-Whip-Kln

What are you up to today?

I’ve been riding  a demo at a kids festival in Hamburg/Germany.

Tell us something about yourself people probably don’t know…

I believe in god but I am not religious at all, it’s just between me & him. it’s cool to send a little prayer everyday to say thanks or if he could have an eye on my friends and loved ones and keep everyone save.

What’s the weather like there at the moment in Germany?

Spring is here and just told us that summer is on its way by spoiling us with lots of sunshine.

Any plans to travel any time soon?

I am working a lot to save up to visit Australia by the end of this year. I haven’t been there yet and I can’t wait to see the country and see the Colony family.

If someone asked you why they should come visit Germany what would you tell them?

There’s lots of history, beautiful girls, unique spots to ride and because Germany is a small country you’re able to visit another country in no time.

What a day!

I really did have a ball at the Amigos Jam yesterday in Brisbane, thanks to everyone that helped put it on, Chris Courtenay ended up winning the bowl comp and also tied 3rd in the street comp. Goodtimes.

Know the team – Chris Courtenay.

Chris was recently added to the flow team, then proceeded to bang out this rediculous wed edit. Read on for a little insight into his world.

What are you up to today?

Well its a nice sunny sunday so perfect! im gonna go riding with Troy Charlesworth and Nitai and hopefully get some photos and clips for a lil something we’ve been working on!

Have you always lived in Queensland?

Yeah I was born in Mackay then moved to Brisbane!

I would say you are more known for your park riding but lately it seems you have been riding a bunch of street, what has been the motivation behind that?

I guess it was just something that I really didnt ride much and just started playing around with skatepark street sections! I find it alot of fun going out and trying to find something cool to ride but yeah, I do love riding skateparks.

Tell us something about yourself people probably don’t know…

My family has a sweet beach house on a island haha!

You went to the states last year to ride, what was your best memory from that trip?

Probably a road trip to Orlando, Florida I did with two friends, Brandon Cristie and Josh Perry! Just was a real fun trip got to ride a fair bit and got a sweet hook up into Disney World which was amazing!

Any plans to travel overseas again this year?

I’m heading off to China for the Asian X Games at the end of May then back over to America for a few months! It’s coming up soon so getting pretty excited!

Photo random.

This photo is of Zac Miner from the recent trip we did from Brisbane to Canberra, wallride from bowl to bowl. I guess you could say this is Zac’s local park as he seems to know all the lines when you watch him ride there.

Fresh paint.

I do enjoy painting my bike, keeps things fresh and for me personally it gives me a good feeling about being on my bike.
