Our Australian warehouse manager, Glen McLaughlin, recently took a week off & decided to road trip solo up to Cairns & back. He filmed a bunch of stuff along the way in the chilled fashion of Glen. The cool thing is this was all self filmed, he did some tech tricks to get those panning shots with no one moving the camera. A mixture of Canon 7D & iPhone footage, it turned out a treat showing the relaxed week he had away.

Just goes to show everyone that works at Colony rides & has done so for more than 20 years. Now, it must be Keith Treanor’s turn to do a video hey?

A while ago Matt from Little Black Bike was telling me about this new kid down in Adelaide who was showing some good promise of being a possible rider for us here at Colony. We started to flow Ricky Catanzariti some product through the shop & now he has progressed into an official flow team member. We are stoked to have him on board & the fact Little Black Bike are down with him speaks words for us. Look out for more from Ricky in the new year, the kid is going to make some noise. We are stoked to have him in the family.

Matt Holmes, the founder of 2020 BMX Magazine, has been diagnosed with & battling cancer this year. To help offset Matt’s growing medical bills, a group of riders have come together to organise the Amigos of Holmes fund raiser & it’s on tomorrow.

Get yourself along to Jindalee skatepark for a fun day on the bike all for a good cause. It starts at midday & from then there will be a sausage sizzle & waters to buy along with raffles, tee shirts & many other fund raisers. So don’t eat lunch before you come & buy up on sausages & waters.

There will also be a bunch of Colony BMX Hidden Agenda 20″ tubes for sale on the day with all proceeds going to Matt. Tubes will be $3.00 ea or buy 5 x tubes for $10.00 !!

As you may or may not be aware, Matt Holmes of 2020 BMX Magazine, has been going through some rather serious life threatening health issues battling cancer. Matt started 2020 BMX Magazine back in the late 1990’s & has helped grow the awesome BMX scene we have in Australia today. Right now he needs everyone’s support to get through this which we know he will.

A fund raising event has been planned & set for November 30th, here in Brisbane at the skatepark in Jindalee. There are more set for other venues in the months ahead around Australia as well. We here at Colony have of course got behind the movement with support to help raise funds for Matt & his growing medical bills. I urge anyone that can, please come along on November 30th & give what you can.

We are proud to announce the latest addition to our worldwide team. Andre Jesus from Brazil is a transition killer. He has all the biggest moves & all while having fun on the bike. We were lucky enough to see his riding first hand whilst in Sao Paulo a few weeks back & were rather impressed. Our good friends at Dream BMX put us in touch and made things happen. Today is a sad, sad day. Our great long term friend Henrique “Valvoline” Castro, has decided to step down from the team & take a back seat on BMX in general. Saying he needs to focus his life in different directions & concentrate on the more serious things in life. He also says he would rather give his spot on the team to a new, younger rider in Brazil who has more energy than he does for BMX right now. I expect you will still see him on a bike around but just not in the public eye as much.

It will feel empty not hearing from him with his travels in Brazil but I guess all good things do come to an end eventually. It’s been a great time having him on the team over the past 4 years or more my friend. You’re family for sure & this news has taken us all by shock. We are going to miss you mate !!

Featuring a 20.3″ top tube length with a 13.5″ rear end it shares similar geometry to Alex Hiam’s Sweet Tooth frames. It features Alex’s signature seat/post combo as well & only comes in the same Dark Red colour as per Alex’s 2014 Sweet Tooth frame (out in October).
