Alex Hiam broke his leg a little while back so the filming for this project was cut a little short but he still came through with a bunch of quality moves. You can read more about his frame here.
Marnold no doubt has his ice game on, mellow ice grind on a local rail. Freshen up your desktop here for widescreen and here for standard screen.
Although this is two years old it’s a great watch, put together by Troy Charlesworth.
Chris is off to Estonia for Simple session, good luck my friend!
I am really psyched on this web video of Ryan, so many dialed lines at all sorts of trails spots along with some good park riding thrown in the mix. Make sure you check this out.
Bruno has some good clips in this edit from The Pegless Jam 5, that indoor park looks real fun!
We used the fisheye version of this photo of Alex for an advert a while back but here is a long lens shot of it for your desktop. Download widescreen here and standard screen here.
Marnold has a bike check over on The Union where he talks about his setup, check it out.
Simon sent in a quick update about how he has been riding pretty hard lately and shooting photos with Michael Harris. Always good to see a fresh photo of Simon doing something I can’t comprehend.
We filmed these clips at Marnolds local park Ringwood sometime last year but never really planned what to use them for so here is a quick edit of some solid lines.
We shot this a couple years back now and it ended up being used for a flatland calender, I really love this shot of Shane so I figured why not make it a desktop background? Download here for widescreen and here for standard screen size.
Brock spent four days in Melbourne over the weekend filming with me for an upcoming web video. Besides a bit of rain everything worked out and Brock destroyed a few spots. The switch ice he is doing in the photo is on a pretty famous rail in Melbourne and it was crazy having all the kids from the school next to it chanting at Brock whilst we filmed. Here are some words from the man himself…
“Hey all just got back from Melbs Monday night from a little weekend trip to hang out and finish off a web edit me and Cooper have been working on and yeah it all went sweet, had a blast can’t wait to see what the edit turns out like. Peace.”
Brock has been in Melbourne the past couple of days, so far it’s been pretty productive when it’s not raining. We are filming for an up and coming Colony web video which should be solid as a rock!
We used this photo of Chris in a RideUS advert fairly recently, now you can run it on your desktop if you are into it. 360 table at Browns Plains park in Brisbane. You can download the standard screen size here and the widescreen version here.
We had a bit of a heat wave here in Melbourne over the weekend but Mick was still keen to get out and film some stuff. We’ve been working hard filming for a fresh new Micky web video which I am excited about.
Zac sent through a quick update for us…

Peta sets of for a trip to Canada today but before she bailed we got a bit of an update from her…
“I’ve been back riding now for about a month after 8 weeks off because I torn a ligament in my elbow really bad and couldn’t bend it or hold any weight with my arm. Feeling good and almost back to 100%
I’m flying out to Toronto on Monday for a Toronto jam and a two week stay riding around. So excited for it. And these are just some Photos Ange took over the past weekend.”
You might remember this from The Colony DVD, Mick gap to ice in Sydney almost a year ago now . Download here for standard screen size and here for widescreen.
Liam recently got back from a three week trip in the USA…
“Hey guys me again, just a quick update. I just recently returned to OZ after a long stay in Cali. I spent all my time in long beach staying at the OSS house with my boy Tim, I could not believe how many spots there were, it was a pleasant change from what I’m used to haha. We met lots of awesome people who made the stay extra fun! As Millar would say I now have the travel bug as I’m itching to get back on a plane and do it all again thanks to Adam and everyone else who made our stay so pleasant. I’m off to Brisbane in a week or two so if you see me out and about come say hey. Until then, stay trill.”
This was used in an advert last year but it’s worthy of a desktop background aswell! Download here for Widescreen annd Standard screens here.
Ryan has had a busy few months and sent in an update for everyone…
So far 2012 has been an awesome year. The end of last year I realized Greenville is not the place for me anymore. So I made the decision to move back to California where I lived 6 years ago. Making this decision has really motivated me because I think repetitively doing the same stuff everyday in Greenville was putting me in a funk. Me and my girlfriend decided to take a flight out to Southern California to look for a new home. Luckily, we found one a block away from the famous sheep hills trails in Costa Mesa. I’ve grown up watching the Schwinn video American muscle with these trails in it for most of my life.
Before I left Greenville, I shot a lot of videos and photos of stuff I wanted to do before I moved which should be coming out soon. Another cool thing im excited about, its small but I painted my down tube on my bike black and restickered my bike and for some reason its just made me really happy haha.
The next big event was the Fise contest in Costa Rica. I’d been looking forward to this event since I heard about it back in January. I flew to Miami with Rob Darden but because his passport got washed in the washing machine he got departed back to Greenville not a happy pappy. Costa Rica is a really cool country, I couldn’t believe how friendly the locals were. And they were excited to meet us all in person. Because its hard they’re kind of secluded and don’t have access to amazing skate parks like we do. They kept telling us in Spanish how excited they were to have Fise come there. When I got to the event I was blown away about how big the dirt jumps were. The first jump had the be 38 feet but no one had ridden them because of the wind. The second day I was there was park qualifying and I qualified for the top 18 finals for that night. In qualifying the biggest stand out was Drew Bezanson he just came back from a serious head injury but he’s riding stronger than ever and that was just amazing to see. They ran the finals that night at 8:30 because they wanted live TV, I was not happy about this decision because the course was painted black and of course the sky was black. I felt this didn’t suit my riding because I focus on a lot of spinning tricks eg. 1080s, double flips. So I told myself ill keep it safe and put a lot of focus on dirt tomorrow. I still did runs I was excited about including flip whips and 720 turn down. The park event was one of the most amazing comps I’ve ever witnessed. Because at the end of our runs we were given a best trick and they didn’t care how long it took us to pull it. This brought out a lot of new tricks- double decade, 720 double tail whip, and a 360 flip tail whip. Crazy night.
Woke up excited for dirt ripped open the hotel curtains and sure enough hurricane like winds and black stormy skies. I still went to the event with fingers crossed but sat around all day waiting for the rain to die and the wind to go away. One cool thing that came out of this is the super rich guy who helped put on the event let us check out his Lamborghini and Ferrari’s, and even big daddy talked his way in to driving the Ferrari around the race track. Costa Rica was an amazing trip. Once I got back into America the mission was to drive from Greenville, NC to Costa Mesa, CA.
Let me point out that ive never driven over 5 hours and the biggest trailer ive ever pulled is the one that pulls my lawn mower just a few blocks down the street. We pulled a 27 foot car carrying trailer packed to the ceiling. We did 9 hours the first day, but then I kicked into driving mode and did 19 hours the following day, and 20 the last day into California. Crazy we made the trip in 3 days when we were expecting to do it in 5 or 6. Driving that many hours in one day is unreal. We saw so much different landscape and weather it was unbelievable. We would start out in the morning driving in snow, then it would turn into flat deserts by the afternoon we would be going up the steepest mountains. One scary event on the roadtrip was being almost overtaken by a semi truck until its tire exploded causing him to lose control and almost taking us off the road with him. I just pinned it and didn’t look back. My heart was racing. But we got to California safe and sound. This morning I unpacked the trailer, went down to the beach to get lunch, and tonight we’re going to the supercross race to cheer on our boy Chad Reed. Tomorrow morning ill put my bike together and let the good times begin.
An oldie but a goodie from Mick Bayzand, this is almost four years old now, back when Mick was living back in Vancouver. So many good rail hammers in this.
Another 10 clips edit from Valvo. This was from an afternoon down at Browns Plains park which Valvo had never seen before but seemed to really enjoy. It must have been 40 degree’s this day but it still all worked out.
The ever so humble Paddy Gross shot through an update…
“Since I moved from Germany to the USA at Christmas, I’ve been going through a heap of changes. First of all, my girl and I got married after being together for a while. I’ve gotten really lucky with her and besides that she’s relaxed and uncomplicated, she’s a surfer and she loves me being on my bike and knows what it means to me, just very different from what I’ve experienced.
Other than that, my mom lives in Portland, Oregon and I’ve been coming to this place for almost ten years. I’ve made some good friends over the years such as Chester Blacksmith, Andy Merrall, Shad Johnson, Justin Inman and so on, who are now my daily riding mates. Just the in the state of Oregon alone there has to be more than a hundred concrete skateparks so it doesn’t get boring at all (check here). Also, the legendary Burnside skatepark under a highway bridge is one of the playgrounds I hang out at. This park is made out of real rough concrete and you can just feel by pushing around that it is made by hand a long time ago, a seriously amazing park with a million lines. The winter is still going on but we’re having a heap of sunny days and a new edit is already in the works. Since my mom has had a major health problem I am working in her bike shop a lot and I am taking care of the BMX section also which is heaps fun and a good way to introduce Colony to the kids. I am excited for everything happening this year and also my next Australian visit is in the works. Thanks heaps for letting me share what’s going on in my life with all of you and thanks for reading. Have fun shredding and stay happy and healthy. Cheers, Paddy.”
A little while back Atilla took a trip to Budapest, he sent through a few photos for us to check out.
