Canadians eh…

About 3 years ago I flowed an old friend a Sect frame & a bunch of our parts to go along with it. Well Dustin Guenther recently sent in an email to catch up & says he is still riding that same bike. Here are some pics to prove that Dustin is still a god on a bike. Some of you may remember Dustin doing rather well back in the old Metro Jam days & more often than not, having a top 3 finish at these events. Stoked to see him still riding & having fun. I just love those x-up canadian nose picks… such an awesome trick especially when done on an 8 foot quarter.

Ryan out for 4 months

Ryan sent us an update on his recent injuries. Wishing you the fastest recovery mate. Read on below…

Wow what a crazy year 2010 has been… As many of you know, I crashed badly at the Chicago Dew Tour doing a 540. From the crash I suffered a 3rd degree separation on my left shoulder. This only aggravated years of abuse and past injuries to the point that time and basic rehab will not heal the injury to extent I need.

Since the Chicago Dew Tour, I’ve ridden in the X Games, HB US Open, and Portland Dew Tour with the injury. Unfortunately now with both shoulders popping out every time I ride, I decided to get X-rays & MRI to find out how to fix what’s going on.

I’ve been told by sports doctors the only way to fix the problems with my shoulders, so I can compete without any issues, is to get surgery and have them repaired. Therefore, I will undergo surgery this week. Then I will be fully recovered by end of this year as I’ve been told that it is 4 months of rehab post surgery. That will put me in a good position to return for the start of next season with a healthy body allowing me to compete at 100% once again.

I hate that it’s come to this, but I can’t keep riding with this injury and need it fixed now.

Death by Wasabi !!

To help celebrate the release of our 2011 range we have teamed up with Brisbane’s newest BMX store,
LUX BMX to bring you, Death by Wasabi !!

Basically, we’re gonna give away a 2011 Teddy frame in our new Wasabi colourway for the person who wins by eating the most wasabi on the night. There will also be other give aways on the night so make sure you’re there for it. Even if it’s just to laugh at who ever is crazy enough to eat copious amounts of wasabi for a frame. Should be entertaining to say the least. See the flyer below for details.

We will also have on display a teaser display of our 2011 range which is due in the country in September.

He recently has been keeping occupied building the set up for the King of the Jibs contest we’re holding in a few weeks, stripping his bike back to bare metal & riding as much as humanly possible. Cooper is setting off on a road trip to Adelaide this coming weekend to shred & film. He will also be up here in Brisbane in a few weeks to photograph our entire 2011 ranges which will hit stores in September across the country. Never a dull moment for Cooper.

X’ies update…

Today we watched the street eliminators in the morning which was amazing to see. So much good riding went down. A real treat to watch. Then we checked out the vert prelims & finals. It was great to see vert as the centre piece show it was. A real close competition for sure. Tim Wood just missed out on a finals spot but still rode amazing with a perfect 900 & huge turndown flair amongst other stuff. Nice one mate. Tomorrow is park finals & big air, should be good to see.

At the X’ies mannn…

I’m over here at the X Games in LA right now & the comp starts tomorrow. Just chilled out today watching park, street & vert practise. Should be good to see what goes down in each event over the coming days. It’s great to see a lot of faces I haven’t seen in a while as well. I snapped this photo of Tim during vert practise today on my digi cam. Expect a few more photos to come over the days ahead.  Ryan has park eliminators tomorrow morning even with his bad shoulder but should be OK. Fingers crossed.

Shane Badman checks in…

Shane Badman sent in a quick update of what he’s been up to of late… read on below.

Recently headed over to Bali for just under a week to go to one of my closest mates wedding (congrats Kieren & Nikki!). We stayed just outside Kuta and spent the time chillin by the pool, hitting up Balinese massages (for $8AUD you can’t go wrong!), crazy shopping markets, booting around on scooters like the big kids we are & just generally having an awesome time. Unfortunately the bike didn’t come with me (first time ever!), but sussed out a few spots to ride for the next visit.

If you are a surfer, you definitely need to check out around Bali, some awesome surf beaches!

Been super busy helping to get the finals of the DownUnderground underway as well. It’s going to be an awesome event for sure & myself & the crew at Newcircle are busy putting together a little promo edit for the event so stay tuned! – Shane.

While Alex & I were staying at Ryan’s house a couple weeks back we put together this fun little edit riding Ryan’s new backyard mini ramp. It was crazy hot this day & so humid but was great fun doing it. I haven’t sweated that much in ages !! We even did a bunch of synchro stuff just for fun. Enjoy.
