Next up in our Ten Clips series of video’s is Alex Hiam. One of his favourite parks here in Brisbane is Fairfield, so we hit it up one weekday so it was a bit quieter, which it was but it was crazy windy at times. You can probably tell how windy it was in the background of some of the clips. Alex was keen though so we spent the afternoon filming this. Thanks to the locals for being patient at times.

The finals for this years Down Underground flatland series presented by Newcircle, is set for August 21st inside the Ausbike trade show in Melbourne. Come along to check out the very best of flatland in Australia & abroad with it being reported a Japanese contingent is heading over for the comp.

Should be a great weekend of BMX with the King of the Jibs the day before also at Ausbike & then on the 21st of August, is the second annual Slay The Rail comp also in Melbourne. A very big weekend of BMX here in Australia, the way it should be.

This Sunday at Beenleigh BMX park is the 2nd annual BMX Day Out as organised by Peter James. In memory of Leif Nielsen it will be a great day of riding & fun in the sun. There will even be various over 30’s only BMX comps to be held on the day. There will be concrete bowl, flatland, vert & park comps throughout the day. Should be some good times for sure, see ya there !!

We went through Bundaberg today and had to stop at the Bundy Rum Distillery for Millar cause it’s his favourite drink. We wanted to get a shot with the Bear but he was hibernating so we got one with the giant bottle instead. This is what happens kids when you drink too many Bundys! Hope you enjoy Millar… I sure did.

Backbone BMX have put some work in & organised a jam to celebrate the opening of the new park at Belco down in Canberra. The park looks amazing & I myself cannot wait till I get the chance to check it out. Zac Miner, Alex Hiam, Tom Stretton, Brock Olive & myself headed down to Newcastle on the weekend to ride & to attend a DVD premiere hosted by the guys at Drift Bikes. A huge thanks to everyone at Drift. On the way down we also hit up the new park in Nimbin which was a blast. Get yourself there sometime soon if you wanna ride a great snake run & park.

I have a soft spot for Koln, Germany. Over the years I have spent a lot of time there riding various contests & having a great time in general. I even lived there for a year back in 2001. I am stoked to see there will be a premiere there for our DVD as well. What better people to have host it as well with the good folks at The People’s Store. In conjunction with Freedom BMX Magazine’s 100 Issue party it is set to be an amazing night. Thanks to all involved including our distro in Germany, Fastpace.

It’s set to be one huge night. The entire Australian Colony team will be in attendance (with the exception of Ryan & Simon). The venue is licensed so no outside drinks allowed. There will be plenty available at the bar.
All ages are welcome with a parent or guardian but please note everyone must have photo ID to enter regardless of age (The Globe’s rules).
We will also have DVD’s for sale for $10.00 each. There will also be some lucky door prizes for a lucky few.

Ryan Guettler had probably some of the worst runs of luck injury wise while trying to film for the DVD. All in all though, he still managed to get some good footage captured for his section. Find out what he went through to get his section done in the video below.
