Glen McLaughlin our warehouse manager, has been away for 5 weeks now with another week to go on a mammoth trip around the states with the infamous Mark Schneider. Here is a little update on their travels…
My trips been going so good, seen so much cool stuff and ridden some amazing spots. We were going through Iowa yesterday and found this gas station called Colony Point. Had to get a photo of it. I attached a couple other pics too. One was from Ray’s MTB park in Cleveland. Place was crazy, anything from fun MTB trails to rhythm box jumps to bowls to weird quarters so big I even got lost on one trail took me a few minutes to find my way back to the front ha ha. On our way to Vegas now for the weekend then grand canyon then back to LA and home sweet home! Talk soon, Glenny.

Myself and a good mate of mine Tinny set off for a roadtrip down to Sydney Halloween jam today.
We have already hit a few parks including Nimbin where I don’t think I’ve ever ridden faster than I have in at snake run. If you’re ever near and get the chance it’s definitely worth it!
We will be hitting more parks and spots on our way down and in Sydney for the next few days. So if you see us come say what’s up. And follow me on instagram cause that would be deadly! haha @tom_stretton

I was out cruising on Sunday & decided to take a drive out to Beaudesert. I hadn’t been there in a good 20 years since when the old bowl was first built. I had heard about an extension being built a few years ago & wanted to check it out. I rocked up & there were a good amount of locals riding & all pretty much on a Colony of some sort, stoked. I didn’t have my bike with me but will have to go back out again soon, as the park looked real fun. Thanks to the locals there for being so cool, it was good to meet you all.

Way back in 1988 when I started riding, I primarily rode flatland. I was however one of the few riders that rode flatland & also did ramp, street & dirt back then. Given my links to flatland back in the day, it was natural that I wanted to do a flatland range within Colony as a company. Especially when good friends of mine Shane Badman & Simon O’Brien were without support at the time it made perfect sense to help them out.
Over the years we have supported flatland as much as we can. It’s no secret that the flatland market is a small one indeed. Through our strong position within BMX as a whole we have been able to support this for some time but at some point we needed the flatland program to support itself. Unfortunately this has not been the case & after much deliberation & sadness we have had to pull the plug on our flatland program.
We will still support Shane, Simon & Shintaro as much as possible with our products but we will no longer be making any new flatland products moving forward.
The guys at Flatland Fuel still have some stocks while they last so if there is something you want before it’s all gone, I would at fast.
I would like to take this time to thank everyone for their support throughout the years, we’ve had some of the best riders on the planet ride some of our products & that is amazing to think about. So thanks for the good times & may the they continue into the future. You never know… we may bring out some very, very limited edition flatland products from time to time.
