From the emails I’ve been getting from Simon lately it seems he has been having a blast over in Japan, here is the latest…
I just got back from the Toyama C3 jam which is on the north west side of Japan. As well as checking out the sites of Toyama including the cool castle there, I had a good ride with everyone and also judged the contest.
Lately I’ve been spending alot of time in Tokyo lately. Catching up with some street rider and flatland mates. The last few days ive been cruising the city with Jason Halayko (Japans No 1 Redbull photographer) and getting some great shots. More photos here.
Thanks to Jason Halayko for the really nice shot of Simon here…
6 hammer moves from Alex from a recent trip over in California. Loved the opposite downside whip to bars at Vans…
This popped up on my feed yesterday and I was quite taken back. Backbone have built up a Sweet Tooth around a bunch of Colony products including some of the latest Rainbow goods such as the rims and hubs. This is definitely a bike that basically no one else in the world will have so if you’re looking for a fresh ride maybe this is it? Check all the images and specs here…
Ryan is over in California right now from his homeland of the UK so whilst we were over there we shot this web advert. The kid can crank a good turndown and I would happily shoot them everyday…
Simon O’Brien is a wizard! Even if flatland isn’t your thing this video is well worth a watch. Simon put a lot of time and effort into perfecting his craft and that’s something I can really appreciate…
A good chunk of the team have some really good footage in the mix section of Stu Munro’s DVD. You can see more sections right here…
Bobbie has a real good bike check interview over on the Vital BMX website which you can check out right here…
The Prody Frame that Bobbie is riding is now becoming available in selected retailers in the USA & Australia with the UK to follow soon.
I just came across this video of Peta from a recent comp at GC Compound. Along with Natalya Diehm they both killed it for the womens event.
Part 4 of Simon O’Brien‘s solo dvd project from a few years ago. Simon is a true wizard. Check more sections here.
Jack Kelly spent a month in California hitting up as many spots as he could and ended up with a banger of a video. Shoutout to the LAX crew and anyone else that helped us out whilst over there. We had a blast.
You would have seen from our recent news posts and via Instagram the crazy jam weekend that Backbone put on for everyone just last week. Well the guys just posted a write up from the weekend along with some great photos from B-Dog. Some of the crew got some shots in the mix. You can see it all here.
Hey guys !!
A week ago I rolled my ankle on a halfcab oppo down whip! It has been x-rayed and it’s clear of fractures which is good ! I should be back on the bike in a another week !! Can’t wait to ride !!
For my spare time I have been working a bunch at a local cafe near mine and I am filming my homie @jettbeatie an edit for something to do!
Ryan has been super busy of late and it seems things aren’t slowing down anytime soon…
“I Just started filming a new web edit so keep your eyes out for it,The start of the month I went to mexico for Dirt Conquerors, comp was amazing made the finals which was my goal going there so im happy. Could of spent more time riding the course as it was so massive but the fans in mexico love BMX.
Just got back from Ramp riders in st louis where I just got done helping the Am comp series called recon, I went out there and did a boot camp for the kids to help tech new tricks and get lines dialed in before the comp, went really good and im doing another one next month in tucson AZ. Today im driving to Las Vegas for a movie shoot, I have to do a race with the vans team in all 80s gear I cant wait going to be so fun. Next week im flying to Naples Italy for some demos for the usa troops should be a good one, I’ve done theses demos a few years now and its a really good way to give back to bmx with kids and show my support to the troops who keep us safe. Other then that just riding every day and trying to get instagram followers so follow @ryanguettler to see every thing im up to.”
Marnold has been on the team for just short of five years now & we have seen him grow into the amazing street rider that he is today. It is with sadness though, that he has decided to step down from the pro team & take a more chilled position within our family team. He will still be riding for us but just without the duties that come with being a pro team rider. I personally want to thank Marnold for all his support over the years & his dedication to Colony as a brand. It’s been awesome mate & I am looking forward to our next ride together. Clint Millar
I’ve known Marnold for something like 7 years and watching him progress over those years has been an awesome experience. I am glad he was able to see the world because of BMX and I will miss the missions we would have going out at all hours of the night to film a clip or make a spot rideable. I am sure you will still be seeing Marnold out on the bike and chances are he will be killing it as he has that natural ability that most (including myself) wish we had. Cooper Brownlee.
Below are some words from Marnold himself…
After recent months and the last couple of years, I’ve been going through some life stuff and BMX has been on the back foot. After some serious thought, I have decided to step down from the Colony pro team. This I feel, is for the best for myself & Colony as a brand. I still will represent Colony as hard as I can but won’t be with the pro team anymore. I just want to say thanks to everyone at Colony that has helped me over the years. Cheers for the good times guys.. Marnold.
Yo yo !!

The 20 year anniversary Prody Frames have arrived in the USA & will be here in Australia early May. The UK will also land these later in May. These frames are a special throwback to a very small run of frames Clint Millar had built back in the early ’90’s under the name of Prody.
2020 BMX Magazine did an interview with Clint about the release of these & you can read it online here now. Check it out.
Alex Hiam’s latest version of his ever popular Sweet Tooth Frame is the most refined version yet. It has the exact geometry that Alex’s demands for his high level riding these days.
Available in an array of sizes including 19.8″, 20.4″, 20.7″ & also 21″ we offer a size that is sure to suit you as well. The 19.8″ version especially is perfect for smaller riders out there who want a high performance frame but in a size that’s easy to ride & great to progress with.
In fact, many riders out there are choosing Alex’s frame of late. You would also be surprised to know of the high profile riders out there, with other frame sponsors, that also ride a Sweet Tooth disguised as something else.
Check them out at a Colony dealer near you worldwide now.

Mike Brennan loves a good bleached tee so he was good enough to shoot us over a quick how-to on how he does his t-shirts…
First get a good dark colored Colony shirt. Then some bleach in an empty water or soda bottle and a nail.
First remove the cap from the bottle and tap the nail threw the center. Making a hole.
Next fill the bottle 2/3 of the way up with hot water.
Fill the rest of the bottle with bleach
Now lay your shirt out and spray on any way you want. The longer you leave it the more the color will change.
Flip the shirt over and do the other side.
Make sure to do it somewhere safe that the bleach won’t affect.
Then rinse the shirt out. Done.
Ricky is always coming through with some creative moves and this video is no different, freshness…
We’re very stoked to announce a new comer to the team with Nathan Sykes who has just moved to California in recent months abut already finding himself very much at home. Be on the look out for plenty more from Nathan & his awesome style to come. Nathan also runs his own clothing line under the name Locals Only. Check it out.
Welcome to the team mate, it’s great to have you a part of it all now. Good times ahead no doubt.
