Alex Hiam & the 2013 Sweet Tooth

Alex Hiam has been off the radar of late but that will soon change.

His new bike shown is the new 2013 Sweet Tooth frame which will be available worldwide in July this year. The colour shown is an exclusive colour to his model frame, Matte Orange. Alex’s frame will come in 19.8″, 20.3″ & 20.6″ sizes.

Read on below as to what he has been up to of late…

Yoo! I have been injured with a broken ankle for 3 months now and fully recovered from surgery. I have been going insane not riding and finally built my new 2013 Sweet Tooth and going to start riding again 🙂 I haven’t been doing much while I’ve been injured, just Xbox, school and chilling with mates. I have had a pretty bad start to 2012 with getting real sick then breaking my hand and ankle. Now that I’m all healed and hopefully I have a injury free year ahead of me ! My main priority when I start riding again is to film another web edit! Here are some photos of when I was injured and my new Sweet Tooth.

Alex Hiam Sweet Tooth frame promo!

Alex Hiam broke his leg a little while back so the filming for this project was cut a little short but he still came through with a bunch of quality moves. You can read more about his frame here.

We used the fisheye version of this photo of Alex for an advert a while back but here is a long lens shot of it for your desktop. Download widescreen here and standard screen here.

Dealer spotlight: Crossley Cycles

Crossley Cycles are one of Australia’s OG BMX shops & still going strong after all these years. Over 30 years to be precise. They recently joined the 21st century & have a full blown website & online store now. The store is ever expanding with more & more products added but you can now order directly from it & pay online as well. A really cool feature they have is a pay & collect in store option. Check them out now by clicking here.

Alex Hiam also rides for Crossley’s so you know they are down with BMX & supporting riders out there. Speaking of Alex, he recently just had surgery on his leg & is on the slow road to recovery. He should be back riding in a few months all going to plan.

Alex and Clint Ten Clips

Alex and Clint teamed up to film a split ten clips at Woodridge park, enjoy.

Alex Hiam scraps edit…

Even while Alex is off the bike with injury he is putting out edits. Put together by his mate, Julian Ball using clips that Alex calls scraps, it has some solid hammers in there. I only wish my scraps footage was half as good as this. Enjoy.

Alex Hiam injury update…

Alex Hiam broke his leg a week or so ago now & had to wait till the swelling went down before a cast could be applied. Well he has had that done now & will have about 6 weeks off the bike. He will be back though better than ever on his new Sweet Tooth V2 frame & filming for an upcoming promo video for it. In the meantime, Alex will be back real soon serving up the best coffee in Cleveland.

Alex Hiam = broken hand

On only the second day of our Adelaide trip, Alex Hiam took a fall on the city trails, which resulted in him not being able to ride the rest of the trip. We all thought (including Alex) that it was just a sore finger & nothing too serious. Well he went to the doctors today & it turns out he has a broken hand. He will now be in a cast for the next 3 weeks, wishing you a fastest recovery mate.

Alex Hiam – Ten Clips

Next up in our Ten Clips series of video’s is Alex Hiam. One of his favourite parks here in Brisbane is Fairfield, so we hit it up one weekday so it was a bit quieter, which it was but it was crazy windy at times. You can probably tell how windy it was in the background of some of the clips. Alex was keen though so we spent the afternoon filming this. Thanks to the locals for being patient at times.

Filmed and edited by Cooper Brownlee with additional filming by Rhys Yeomans.
